Ultimate Blondies
Let me just warn you. These are dangerous. They are chewy, brown sugary, chocolately, brown buttery goodness.
I love blondies. I made these the other night and this is definitely my go-to blondie recipe now (with a few Happily Edible After change-ups!)
Here's how I took this recipe to the ultimate level of yum.....
- browned the butter (couldn't resist ya'll)
- added a chopped up dark chocolate cacao nib bar
- a touch of cinnamon, cardamom, and espresso powder
They will love you for it.
Ultimate Blondies
Makes about 24
Adapted from Smitten Kitchen
16 tablespoons (2 sticks) butter, unsalted
2 cups brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
Pinch salt
2 cups all-purpose flour
Two dark chocolate bars (about 2 ounces each), chopped - {I used Nibmor Dark Chocolate Extreme with Cacao Nibs}
Ground espresso powder, 1-2 teaspoons
Ground cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon
Ground cardamom, 1/4 teaspoon
Butter a 13 x 9 pan
Place butter in a medium pot and cook over medium to med-low heat until butter turns golden brown and smells nutty. Set aside to cool.
Mix brown butter with brown sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs and then vanilla.
Add salt and stir in flour. Mix in cinnamon, cardamom, espresso powder and chopped chocolate.
Pour into prepared pan. Bake at 350°F 20-25 minutes, or until set in the middle. Cool on rack before cutting them.
Enjoy!
